Jorge Adeler has long been a fixture in the Great Falls community, and élan magazine puts his business in front of his neighbors’ eyes.
“I have been doing business in Great Falls since 1979 when the Village Centre opened. Back then we only had one local newspaper and The Washington Post as advertising media. “But newspapers couldn’t capture the brilliance of my jewelry designs so I was left with very expensive, four-color direct mail pieces.
“Then one day in 2003, élan publisher Mike Gallagher came into my jewelry showroom and told me all about his magazine: its upscale readership and its community-oriented articles about local artists and craftspeople. “I had been getting élan for several years at my home and assumed its advertising rates would be cost prohibitive. Mike proved me wrong.
“I have advertised Adeler Jewelers in élan magazine for the past five years. I buy a two-page spread because I not only want to beautifully display my creations but also want to give my neighbors and friends who are élan readers some history lessons about gems and jewelry.
“My daughter Wendy writes the columns for the magazine, and we have gotten wonderful feedback about how helpful and informational they are.
“Over the years I have been involved in many of the civic and business activities in Great Falls, such as the ‘Children’s Spring Festival’ and ‘The Taste of Great Falls.’ I take pride in being a member in good standing in my community.
“It means a great deal to me and my family [Jorge’s two daughters work by his side in the store] that we do business within the community, and élan makes that happen for us.
